Ketil

Also known as: Gold-tooth, Ketil Gold-tooth

Ketil Gold-tooth, second-born son of Kael the Rich, inherited the central lands of the Valleys of Kael. Common myth surrounds this risky barterer, and it is mostly accurate: even with the wealth of his territory, Ketil remained greedy.

It was rumored that a dragon, so rich and powerful that it slept atop a mountain of riches, held a hoard somewhere beyond his lands. Ketil devised a plan to part the dragon from its treasure. He offered to trade a bountiful portion of his own lands for the trove, and the dragon agreed, on the condition that Ketil first prove his determination.

To say the least, Ketil got his fortune. He used some of it to cover his heavily burned body and face with silken robes and a golden mask.

By Skay he fathered Hrokhan, the Vigilant; by Ayra he fathered Borrn, the Southerly.
