Podo the Wise, third-born son of Kael the Rich, could not father children and so was not permitted to inherit land. He accepted this reality, and turned his life to other ends.
He spent many years as a wise counsel to his blood-brother Erikkr I, and applied himself to the reform of belief and practice in service of Þonart: he promoted feasts and animal sacrifice for large occasions, and preserved the original shrine worship for daily rituals.
A master brewer, Podo helped build Erikkr’s famous meadhall, Poderrikhaus, and founded the position of brewmaster.
