Enkallum Carabdz

Also known as: the Memorial Grounds, the Ash-fields

Enkallum Carabdz is a hallowed memorial in the Northern Isles, consecrated as the resting place for the ashes of those slain during the War in Heaven. Pilgrims of many faiths still travel its black plains to leave offerings among the cairns.

The grounds are old beyond reckoning, older than the kings who would later claim the Isles in their own names. What rites preceded the ash-spreading have been lost to the great deluge that drowned the capital region in the war’s aftermath.

To stand upon the ash-fields at dusk, locals say, is to hear faint scratching from beneath the cairns, a quill on stone, an unending hand at unreadable work. The source is not openly discussed.
