Grakkorn

The Grakkorn are a people of shapeshifters, were-folk who take their numbers from among the Primevean: a Primevean may become Grakkorn, and thereafter pass between their born shape and that of a great beast.

Their beast-forms run from line to line, most often the wolf, the bear, the thetwo (a monitor-lizard-like beast), or the stag. For all the menace of the were-shape, the Grakkorn are most often gentle and good-natured folk who hold their two natures in balance, as does Retbeddja.

Those who lose that balance become the Aolgrakkorn, the cursed Grakkorn, trapped forever in the beast.
