Telnon
Telnon is a coastal peninsula on the southeastern reach of Raetun, looking out upon the great Sea Market from which it takes its byname. To its east lies Caearrynia, the neighbouring peninsula of the Chinorn; to its south, across the water, the cursed isle of the Tollorn.
Its people, the Tellorn, are a Rictorn folk, one of the ancient eastern peoples of the Primeveans, and worshippers of the goddess Braekhun. Upon the cursed isle to their south dwell the Tollorn, kindred Rictorn driven mad and banished there by Akurakhaithan; it is from their ranks that the necromancer caste descends.
Telnon rose to power upon the sea. When Borrn the Southerly, a great smith, married Princess Servara of Telnon and ruled as her equal, his ingenuity forged the peninsula into a major naval force; control of the coast and deterrence of the banished became swift and sure, and a lasting alliance bound Telnon to the Verronis. Its shores knew terror as well as trade, the longship raids of Yanterr the Wave-master despoiled the Sea Market for years and left its people in lasting dread, and the peninsula was at length brought under the dominion of Praethornyn during his Eastern Campaign.
The seat of Telnon’s power is the fortress-city of Ankellilog, headquarters of its army and bulwark of the fortified shoreline.
Spoiler: Telnon during the events of Necrowarp
By 85 AFS the southeastern front had erupted. The High Council of Necromancers of the cursed southern isle, embarrassed by the defection of one of their own archnecromancers, hurled their forces at Telnon’s fortified shore, and the Siege of Ankellilog began. The assault is a feint: while Telnon’s army is drawn to the coast, Nighetterix, once an archnecromancer of the Council, now branded by it a rogue necromancer, yet the most powerful necromancer alive, presses inland through the marshes of southern Antygnorn, while his apprentice Elmjarra descends into the ancient vaults along Telnon’s coastline, racing to claim the Kharoplasm before the Council can. All the while the starving banished pantheon of Akurakhaithan stalks the beaches, feeding on the necrotic tide of the war.
