Raetun
Raetun is the principal continent of the eastern hemisphere of Nurrheim, formed alongside Mok when Oykrig, in a grief-fueled rage at the climactic moments of the War in Heaven, tore the ancient supercontinent of Mokrae in two. Mok lies across the Sea of Garðwin in the western hemisphere. To Raetun’s south, also in the eastern hemisphere, lies the continent of Yymberlind.
The original Jonorn capital region of Mokrae stood at Raetun’s center until the goddess Braekhun flooded it during the War in Heaven; the highest surviving peaks form the Northern Isles off the west coast.
Raetun is the principal homeland of the Primeveans, sapient mammals divided among many peoples, including the Tytorns, Nortorn, Skakorn, Enorns, Rictorns, Tollorn, and Chinorns, and of the Kiegzorn of the Northern Isles.
The continent was unified under a single dominion by Þordil the Great, First Emperor of the Nortr. His four sons settled and ruled its great regions: Garðwin I in the west, in the kingdom of Yyimaer; Kael the Rich in the central Valleys of Kael, known politically as Verronis; Ule Bear-heart in the northern tundra forests beyond the Falkorring; and Jargsnek, banished, in the eastern steppes, where his son Yyod I would later carve out the nation of Yllantros.
Raetun’s east coast looks upon the great Sea Market of Telnon and upon the cursed southern isle of the Tollorn.
