Farnek
Farnek, younger son of Yanterr Wave-master and grandfather of Þordil the Great, was a Prince of the Northern Isles. He ruled as steward during the seven-year interregnum that followed his elder brother Jolim Salt-lung’s disappearance across the abyss: Jolim’s death was never verified, and the nobles of the Northern Isles refused to ratify Farnek’s ascension to the throne.
As prince he was debaucherous, spending many of his nights drinking, reveling, and womanizing. On one such night he caught the eye of a Jonorn woman, who had her way with him; their bastard child would become Orling, through whom Farnek’s line continues to Þordil.
As steward, by all accounts, he was pitiful and prodigal, seeking nothing but vice and vanity. It was during this period that Jolim, long presumed lost, returned to the Northern Isles.
