Mok
Mok is the principal continent of the western hemisphere of Nurrheim, formed alongside Raetun when Oykrig, in a grief-fueled rage at the climactic moments of the War in Heaven, tore the ancient supercontinent of Mokrae in two. Raetun lies across the Sea of Garðwin in the eastern hemisphere.
Mok is the homeland of the dragons. The Drakhul hold its northern reaches, with their imperial seat at Yyingrigotl, the tallest peak in Nurrheim since the doom of Mount Eksnothrar. The Doghul (called Infernhul, “the beast that knelt,” by their detractors) hold the south of the continent, descended from the dragon-princes Niverine and Ættiraxes, who sided with the mortal Emperor Raeus over the goddess Prignam in the War in Heaven.
Above the continent’s northern shore stretch the arctic wastes, the desolate ice-fields where Bæurn Serpent-bane hunted and was lost while pursuing the last of the Dai’dou, Maerxsikyst. Off Mok’s western coast lies the Isle of Kraguth, settled by Bæurn during his campaigns against the deep-sea serpents.
Mok has been marked, across the ages, by recurring civil war between its dragon-kin factions, by the breaking of empires, and by the slow accumulation of celestial anomalies wrought by malignant deities.
