Jubdaiā
The Jubdaiā are the small-statured, innocent, child-like dragons of Raetun, a fleshy and diminutive kind of Daiā set apart from the great dragons of Mok, the Drakhul and the Doghul.
Their name carries that smallness in it. The jub- derives from jubling, the word for child in Norkhelsk, the tongue of the Nortr, so that to those who named them the Jubdaiā are the child-dragons, the little Daiā of the Primevean homeland.
For all their gentleness, the Jubdaiā are master craftsmen who delve deep. They bear no resistance to the radiance of the deep places, and so are bound in symbiosis to the Ïvt, who are nourished by it: together the two peoples mine and refine the radioactive belly of Nurrheim, the Ïvt working the poisoned seams the Jubdaiā cannot, and the Jubdaiā shaping what is drawn from them.
